A car salesman has only a few probability to rip you off provided you even engage in negotiations. There’s the price of the car, financing, leasing, garnishing/options, extended warranties, your trade-in, and the general bull that wafts from the salesmen’s mouth.

You should also watch out for the finance manager. Today’s finance folks aren’t just number crunchers, they’re salesmen in disguise. This is where you’ll be encouraged to buy the extended warranty and a host of other garnishing that can all be packaged up nicely into your financing.

It’s reasonably different in the world of car repair. Your car needs service. You HAVE to deal with a service representative, like it or not.

The folks in the dim underworld of automotive service are well-trained in the art of ripping people off. They’re not the feeding-frenzied, thrashing sharks of sales that are simple to spot.

No, service representatives are the Fantastic Whites. They primarily hunt alone, beating in the murky waters of service, striking without warning.

What’s really scary is that the service industry is infested with Fantastic Whites. Traditional tips and suggestions to avoid their attacks don’t work. This is evidenced by the fact that service customers are scammed “tens of billions of dollars each year.”

Information is the key to STOP a Fantastic White. If one knows who, what, when, where, why, and how it hunts, one can take control.

Importantly, “Sharks are not mindless eating machines.” The Fantastic Whites of the service industry are experienced and smart. There are so many attacks from so many different directions, and new technologies provide fresh chum daily.

With auto repair, technology makes mix-up. Technology makes ripples and waves, making it hard to see below the go up of even unadorned auto repairs.

The Fantastic White can sense the anxiety of a service customer, like it can a struggling swimmer. In the midst of this mix-up, the waters of service get even murkier, and SPLASH—it’s cost you an arm and a leg.

In today’s service environment, the service customer needs protection, and needs to be empowered with right information and powerful tools before even entering the waters. There’s no need to lose any limbs, ever!

Bush Reviews More Fuel-efficient Autos

US President George W. Bush took a further day in the nation’s capital to look over some well ahead vehicles that are powered by bendable and alternative fuels. At a U.S. Postal facility, Bush reviewed a group of well ahead technology commercial vehicles after meeting with the CEOs of General Motors, Ford and DaimlerChrysler’s Chrysler Group at the White House.

Bush discussed about the need for additional government funding of research top auto executives that contain Rick Wagoner, the Chairman and CEO of the General Motors Corporation; Alan Mulally, the President and CEO for the Ford Motor Co.; and Tom LaSorda, the President and CEO for the Chrysler Group. The automaker’s CEOs alluded to the president’s proposition, suggesting that the White House may be more open to upping research funding for automakers, especially on well ahead batteries.

Bush was quoted saying: “I’ve just spent reasonably a while talking to our CEOs of American automobile companies. And I was interested in their take on my goal of reducing gasoline consumption by 20 percent over the next 10 years.”

He added, “I found it very fascinating that by 2012, 50 percent of the automobiles in America will be flex-fuel vehicles. That means that the American consumer will be able to any use gasoline or ethanol, depending upon, obviously, price and convenience.”

Wagoner said, “From General Motors’ perspective, we very much share the President’s thought, and we certainly see a path through to both lower oil consumption, lower amounts of imported oil, and fewer carbon emissions. And obviously, a near-term opportunity that we are moving on right now, as the President cited, is flex-fuel vehicles that are powered by E85 ethanol.” He added, “There are millions on the road today. As a group, we’ve agreed to double our production by the year 2010, and then have 50 percent of our production E85-capable by the year 2012.”

“The goal I laid out of reducing gasoline by 20 percent over 10 years is a realistic goal,” Bush noted. “In other words, this isn’t a pipe dream, this is something that our nation can accomplish. It’s going to take more research dollars, it’s going to take effective with the private sector, and it’s going to take innovative leadership.”

Bush also met with officials from the U.S. Postal Service, Fedex, UPS and DaimlerChrysler “to talk about how we are using new technologies to exchange truck fleets, bus fleets to vehicles that will be able to help meet the goal of reducing gasoline usage by 20 percent over 10 years.” He also witnessed three DaimlerChrysler-built vehicles and a GM-built well ahead technology which are used as a U.S. Postal vehicle.

The president’s gasoline reduction proposition intends to dramatically increase ethanol use by 2017, to 35 billion gallons per year, and rising the fuel efficiency of vehicles to limit gasoline usage by five percent, or 8.5 billion gallons yearly. The White House said that reaching that goal will require automakers to raise fuel efficiency of vehicles by an average of four percent annually.

Bush’s proposition analysis could cost the auto industry $114 billion between 2010 and 2017, including $85 billion for domestic auto manufacturers. Automakers have strongly opposed that aspect of the plot, though they help reforming the way passenger car fuel economy regulations are set.

There is no need to apply EBC greenstuff braking for the goal towards cleaner environment plus the cutting of foreign oil reliance could be loved by the nation in due time.

High Gas Prices, More Motorcycles, More Accidents

When gas prices peaked just before hundreds of thousands of Americans were preparing to leave for the summer holidays, many people thought it might be a excellent thought of trading their gas hogs for vehicles with better miles per gallon. This was particularly the case when you better get used to high prices of gasoline. Well, those prices have dropped a bit from its peak of more than four dollars a gallon in most states, but many people have jumped from SUVs to small cars, or even motorcycle go.

But, that state and local authorities and many emergency place to stay have seen an increase in the number of people injured and killed in < ; has rel = "nofollow" onclick = "javascript: pageTracker. _trackPageview ('/ outgoing / article_exit_link');" href = "http://www. robbinslaw. com / motorcycle accident. htm" motorcycle accidents> < / a>. Statistically, more motorcyclists are killed during the summer months because of the warmer weather allowing riders to go out on the roads. But, last summer saw people wondering whether the high prices of gasoline were to blame for motorcycle accidents so. The main reason is that the less experienced riders were on the roads and highways which is causing havoc from coast to coast. And the number of motorcycle registrations has augmented each year. With this increase comes from the next logical that more motorcycles on the roads mean more accidents. But, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Estimates that near 25% of those caught up in motorcycle accidents has no valid license. Holders of valid permit clearly had to take a test pilot and the bike forward, chief some to reckon a lot of inexperienced riders may not have their licenses. Furthermore, many people who ride bikes to take risks, like riding without a helmet, which kills more motorcyclists caught up in accidents than other things. In fact, near 75% of people killed in motorcycle accidents head injury.

Although this may seem like a excellent thought to go out and buy a motorcycle to save gas and look cool There are several things to keep in mind before hitting the road:

· Wear a helmet, regardless of your state law is. Although all states have mandatory helmet laws, more people have survived terrible accidents because they wore a helmet.

· take courses to learn your bike. This may seem like a given, but it does not take much to learn the basics of how to start a motorcycle and do it. But, as the driver education course teenagers take these classes will help you establish how to drive safely – and to stop the bike.

¯ again, you will learn in the pilot Ed, you need to obey the rules of the road. Maintaining a distance between you and other vehicles on the road is a small different on a motorcycle than a car. Alacrity limits and stops signs are there for a reason. Obey the law as you would when driving your ancient SUV.

· Accidents involving motorcycles are numerous due to the fact that a further driver could not see the runner. The bikes are much smaller than other vehicles, do not believe that someone else on the road you are. Regardless of the size of the other vehicle, it will generally win in an industrial accident. You have no seat belts or airbags, you’re not surrounded by metal to care for you if you are struck by a car roving 55 mph.

Although summer is over, the days are still hot enough for your bike in comfort. But, you must be aware that you are in a vehicle with a high chance of being injured or killed if you are caught up in an industrial accident. The best way to avoid injury or death is to avoid becoming caught up in an industrial accident in the first place. Ride safely.

As people are pressured to make a choice on the spot, many times they take the terrible loan to be able to drive away immediately, only to be sorry after they see how much the high payments will really impact their lifestyle.
